Thelonious Monk – Round Midnight

I’m reading Robin D.G. Kelley’s “Thelonious Monk: The Life and Times of An American Original” (2009: Free Press). I have heard of T. Monk all my life, and he was alive while I was growing up in New York City. I regret that I didn’t know enough about music to make the effort the see him perform live.

In any case, here is a taste of his music.
